Our school was officially opened in September 2004. When the school opened, it consisted of two blocks (A and B), with shared play and hall areas with a local school, a small dining room and a kitchen. There were nine teaching staff, including the Headteacher, Dr Sa’eed P. Alam. At that time, the school was in the Birmingham area of Small Heath.
The school was expanded in 2006 with a further new premise acquired to facilitate the increase in student numbers. This was the beginnings of the growth path we would take for the years to come.
In 2010, the school moved to our new location on Moseley Road, Birmingham. This represented by far our biggest transformation. The new premises contained large airy classrooms with copious amounts of daylight flooding in through the giant windows and skylights. Coupled with a renewed sense of ambition to educate, we witnessed immediate improvements in our students’ educational progress, as well as to their physical and mental energy.
By this time the school was growing rapidly and a further new block was added in 2012 housing the girls section. Also in this year, Mr Hameed Alam was appointed as the new Headteacher and in the same year, the school became a fully independent school which was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
The school underwent a plethora of changes – the introduction of IGCSEs, the National Curriculum, and the Duke of Edinburgh awards to mention a few. The period also coincided with the upgrade of many of the school’s facilities such as the new playground, science lab, canteen, IT lab and other facilities at Redstone.
Now in 2018, our ambitions continue to grow, and our pupils’ ambitions grow with us. Mr Saadat Rasool has stepped in as the new headteacher and we are placing a renewed emphasis on student participation – listening to, and guiding them to a better education. Furthermore, we are looking to bring in a new generation of educators by offering apprenticeships and certification programs so the future generation may benefit.
